Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek known as Poon hill Trekking. It is a very popular short trek to the Annapurna range. The Poon hill trek is in the north of Pokhara, the Lake city which is 200 Kms west of Kathmandu. Poon hill trek is one of the best short trekking trips in Nepal.  The trekking is very easy and there is no high climbing. The trekkers walk in the forests and by the side of the streams enjoying natural beauty all around. Poon hill trek is done throughout the year. Ghoropani poon hill trekking route make a small circuit covering Tadapani and Ghandruk. Highest elevation of Poon hill Nepal is 3210 meters above sea level. Poon hill Nepal is the finest sunrise, sunset and Mountain view point of Annapurna trekking region.

Ghorepani Poon hill trek offers you incredible mountain landscapes that will abandon you confused. Trekking in the quiet mountain is really a gift and it is improved even with the vicinity of the Himalaya.  The trek offers the fantastic mountain landscape alongside beguiling towns occupied especially by the Gurungs & Magars, thick rhododendron backwoods brimming with winged animals and profound sub-tropical valleys, all set underneath the Annapurna’s with the pleasant crest of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Peak) commanding the horizon.

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan intl. airport our representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your Kasthamandap boutique hotel, Thamel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
In Kathmandu morning after breakfast and at given time our city guide will pick you up for sightseeing tour around places of interest around Kathmandu old part of the city, Kathmandu is famous for world heritage sites with tour of Pashupatinath a holy temple, Bouddhanath Stupa a Buddhist pilgrimage spot or tour of Kathmandu old Durbar (palace) Square and ancient 2,500 years old Swayambhunath, afternoon free for Mardi Himal Trekking preparation.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 820m – 06 hrs of 220 k.m. distances.
Morning an exciting drive on nice comfortable coach or in a private vehicle (depending upon the group size), the road to Pokhara lead on low hills of with views of Himalayan peaks and rolling green hills, passing through many farm villages and towns to reach at scenic and famed city Pokhara.

Pokhara located in the shadow of massive Annapurna range of mountains with pristine Lake Phewa, here in accommodation in nice hotels with time in the afternoon for walks on the lake side where you can browse around excellent shops-stores-restaurants.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,450 m – (2hrs ride and 04 hrs walks).
From Pokhara after a pleasant overnight stop with grand views of Annapurna Himalaya, starting our wonderful Poon Hill Panorama & Sunrise trekking with few hours of scenic drive to reach our trekking point at Nayapul on the mid way of Baglung and Pokhara highway, walk leads following Modi River for a short while at Bhirethati village a charming village with views of waterfalls and Mt. Machhapuchare.

After Bhirethati village walking past rural farm villages and on the uphill trail to reach at Tirkhedhunga with beautiful cascading waterfalls for overnight stop in a nice cozy lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,840 m – 05 hours.
Morning leads to uphill on stone steps from Tirkhedhuga to reach a large Gurung village at Ulleri, from here on gradual uphill trail into alpine woodlands full of tall rhododendron-pines and oaks trees where in spring and summer this places turns into a natural garden with wildflowers in full bloom.

After a great pleasant walk reaching at Ghorepani Deuarli the village of Poon-Magar tribe, where the houses and lodges are painted blue, located at 2,840 m high on the mid way of old Trans-Himalayan Salt Trade route of Nepal and Tibet on route Upper Mustang to Tibet border.Ghorepani offers excellent views of Dhaulagiri range of peaks with Annapurna Fang (Vara Shikar) and Annapurna South.

Day 06: Morning hike to Poon Hill 3,210m for sunrise, walk to Tadapani 2520mm.
Early morning as the day is promising with clear sky, hike uphill to Poon-Hill at 3,210m the highest point of the trek offering super panorama of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu to Annapurna range of peaks, as far to Ganesh Himal in the Far East horizon includes towering unclimbed and virgin Mt. Machhapuchare “The Fish Tail”.

From Poon Hill catch the stunning sunrise views over chain of Himalayan peaks, after a busy photo session back to Ghorepani for breakfast and carry on trekking towards our next destination to Tadapani.Walk leads up and downhill into beautiful forest on reaching a isolated village at Tadapani with incredible views of Annapurna range of peaks.

Day 07: Trek to Tolka 1,700 m via Ghandruk 1,940 m – 05 hrs.
Morning catching another sunrise views from Tadapani over the mountains, morning walk is easier on the downhill trail through serene forest and streams and then reaching at a large Gurung tribe village in Ghandruk, at Ghandruk with time for lunch break and explore this nice Gurung village which is one of the largest villages around Annapurna region. The men folk of Ghandruk village have old and long tradition supplying some of the finest soldiers in the Gorkha Regiment to both Indian and armies.

From Ghandruk our walk continues taking a downhill path to reaching at the bottom of a hill between Ghandruk and Landrul village by the Modi River. From here an hour climb to another large Landruk village with pleasant walk on gradual trail with few short ups to reach our overnight stop at Tolka, a nice spread out farm village with super views of Annapurna South and Huinchuli.

Day 08: Trek to Kande via Potana and Australian Camp and drive to Pokhara – 04 hrs walks with an hour ride. After a wonderful stop at Tolka our last day walk of this marvelous trekking leads on nice winding path with a short climb at Deurali ridge top with grand views of surrounding landscapes and snow-clad peaks. Walk leads downhill into a nice cool forest reaching at Potana for lunch located in the midst of a forest with grand views of peaks, afternoon a short climb to beautiful spot at Australian Camp also known as Thulo-Kharka, a grazing land offering super panorama of mountains. From here the last leg of the journey leads downhill to Kande village at the road head of Baglung and Pokhara and then taking a drive for an hour or more to reach at Pokhara after a great time up in the high hills of Annapurna Himalaya.

Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu – 06 hrs evening farewell dinner.
After a great country walk on the scenic trail of Annapurna Himalaya, morning journey as the drive leads back to Kathmandu with few rest stops for refreshment and lunch, after 6 hours of good drive reaching back at busy city life in Kathmandu.

Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu
Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until your departure flight/drive or to commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you’ll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
